I'm on a rewatch-tv-series-spree. Have just finished Person of Interest and (re-)started watching Mr Robot. It is quite fascinating how well before their time they were, compared to reality of today. I mean, 10 years ago they predicted, pretty much exactly, what we see right now. They asked the moral questions we don't see anyone asking today when the (then) futuristic technologies were to be implemented, and what the dangers of that could be. Sure, there some goofy takes on some of details in the intricacies of hacking or programming, but the overall message(s), and the overall view of AI without steering, are amazingly spot on with what we read in the news right now. Next after Mr Robot I will probably revisit Westworld, which definitely are eerily much like what we see the developments are going (and I'm not necessarily talking about ai-robots for amusement) with AI keeping track of everyone and everything, and you might be excluded from some jobs (and thus places to live etc) based on your medical history, or your family, or your place of birth. #PersonOfInterest #MrRobot #Westworld #tv #series

@mathias@sharkey.world I'm really enjoying my first go through(ish) of Mr. Robot! I watched Season 1 back when it came out, but fell off and never got back to seeing the rest. I have a feeling I'm in for a ride!

@mathias@sharkey.world I recently rewatched Mr Robot, with Mrs Axemonkey, who had not seen it before. I was amazed how well it held up, and also at just how prescient it was.
