apparently we have more power than we realize and could talk to our children in our language and send them to language schools. but what about people who don't have sovereignty and where there are no schools to teach their language? i am lucky that kazakh language has its own schools, i am glad that it has any kind of presence and acknowledgement at all. what about people who speak native american languages? what about Ainu? Krymchak?

this single passage made me so angry when i read it. what misery?! WHAT MISERY?! languages are joyous! my kazakh language is full of joy! it is full of recipes, jokes, stories, beauty, everything! and not only mine — so many others that are more endangered, have so much life in them too. what misery you want to put me out of, american man?
