If someone were to record me on a first date to send our conversation to Claude for a performance report, I'd leave immediately and call an ambulance to get that person checked out. I earnestly mean it that the folks who can no longer think or do reflecting for themselves but outsource even the most basic human things to an AI must suffer from this prison of our own design. The fact “performance” is even a term that comes up for these people, from work to hobbies to dating, describes a state of being that I'd be unhappy to exist in.
