So I am watching Beachcombers on Knowledge Network for the first time because I am an immigrant and was living in another country when it came out.
Canadians, British Columbians: tell me more about the show, the cast, the location and things that I should know about this iconic series.

@CatherineBabault@mastodon.social It was filmed in Gibsons BC. The restaurant set is at the head of the government dock (red railings). Still called Molly's Reach. I think you can go inside. Gibsons is about 50km south of where I live. I think most of the stars have passed on. I don't know if there are still log reclaimers working the coast because the mills have largely shut down. Gibsons is at the head of Howe Sound. I used to take my boat in there on weekends. There's a great pub opposite Molly's Reach.
