But the real headline is what happened during the closure: Fremantle Station boardings jumped 20%, parking up 30%, and overall river crossings fell by a fifth. People changed behaviour. They used public transport. It proves transit works when it's given a chance. Now imagine what we could achieve if that same focus and funding were directed to the outer suburbs and growth corridors that have waited decades for decent rail or bus services.
