Destroying democracy has been 30 years in the making
Make conflicts of interest (for all branches) illegal, autonomous DOJ/DHS (and other agencies that should be apolitical), Separation of powers (no kings), civil rights (including illegal aliens), separation of church and state, only registered voters can contribute to campaigns and political causes... need bolstered in law and constitution changes so they can never be as easily circumvented again

A great start for making amends with our allies would be reaffirmation of our commitment to international cooperation at the U.N., which could start by delivering Putin, Netanyahu, and Trump to the ICC for trial We will never be able to sway ~30% of the population, the true believers/conspiracy theorists, who will never allow themselves to comprehend the grey areas of reality and instead believe unequivocally in the simplified black and white fiction spewed by faux news, Russia, China, etc....
