@tinker@infosec.exchange I am not above being silly, even in an edit:) I take your points of scale and scope. The parts where we don't agree, hopefully we do the thesis/antithesis/synthesis dance and came out of it better beings.
So given what is in play, where next?
Is this a Notch/Mojang situation where in the driving force exits stage left?
Is this a WhenInTheCourseOf... situation where in a one thing becomes two?
Wherever things wind up Im in for the ride.

@tomwsmf@mastodon.social - Haha, cheers 😂 Yeah, I don't know. The possibilities for how to approach this (assuming we're against it) are: - Attempt to enact an outright ban on AI submissions or a strict codified policy and procedure around it by either convincing, pressuring, or circumventing Linux leadership - Go to an established OS and attempt to do the same (eg *BSD) - Create an entirely new project either from scratch or from forks - Accept it as is, gnash our teeth, die inside, and lose what we once had None of those are especially simple, easy, or straightforward. And every single one has knock-on effects. So. I dunno.
