@rl_dane@polymaths.social macOS doesn't (natively) support this. Sure, you can rsync the files - but for total, native backup "a la TimeMachine", you need SMB

@stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe @rl_dane@polymaths.social the lack of zfs on macos isn't great. I hate SMB with a passion. For backups I think I'd prefer Borg, especially when backing up to a remote target that may not be entirely under my control. I used to do rsync with hard links for a long while but switched to all-Borg a couple of years ago. There are also nice graphical frontends which are great when cherry-licking few from backup sets. Like Pika for Gnome for example.
