Public support for interventionist wars has always been weak. The cover story for these actions was always something about "spreading democracy" and "keeping America safe" this never really rang true.
Our current president just says it's about being a pirate, a bully, "taking the oil" ... There is no moral fig leaf. But, the premise, to me, is also obviously false.
"Taking the oil" hasn't made prices go down. Being a bully isn't really thriving or winning.

I want America to be a country that everyone wants to work with. A country with advanced technology and the people who make it. A country with amazing public infrastructure that makes visitors stop and take photos. A country with a reputation for taking on ambitious projects and succeeding at getting them done. A country who leads in opinions on international conflicts because of an excellent track record of being right. That's not going so well and hardly ever was.
