In planning a week on Runmarö Island, I've made a map of what it looked like 1100 years ago. The shoreline displacement and the inland lake basins' last points of contact with the Baltic are key to my understanding. There are no known pre-modern sites on Runmarö, but the island is huge and has in all likelihood been at least utilised before 1500, probably also inhabited. #archaeology #history
