There were people who wanted to protest this, of course, but protests were more limited in this dream than they are in reality. The protesters, instead of rallying anywhere, held a film festival. My friend Trey Parker* and I decided to go check it out. The movie started, and Trey and I were shocked to learn that the movie we had made together 20 years earlier had an underground cult following. It was being played with subtitles, and the audience was trying to say all the lines out loud at the same time as the actors, but they couldn't, because the movie was playing at double speed. Trey and I tried to tell everyone that the speed was wrong because the file format had changed over the years, and at first no one would believe that the film's authors just so happened to be present for this random screening. We eventually convinced them, and started explaining the movie. *Yes, that Trey Parker, no, we aren't friends IRL. 6/11

The dream changed, and I was inside the movie. Still cyberpunk, but more gritty, set in the streets between walls of skyscrapers, part shanty town, part open bazaar. I was some sort of operative, but the dream never specified if I worked for a criminal gang, resistance, corporation, or government. My fellow operatives and I were in enemy territory, playing a game of cat and mouse with enemy agents. On foot, we ran between market stalls, and through labyrinthine "employees only" areas behind them. A double agent lured me into an area I thought was safe, but I realized what was happening, and ran the other way, relaying a heads up to my group about the ploy. I met the others at our vehicle*, ready to make our exit. We would have to time our escape just right, because we had noted the locations of enemy sentries, who would spot us the instant we started moving. *Car? Armored Car? Hover Car? Flying Armored Car? Unclear. 7/11
