@gusseting@mastodon.social yes I have. But I didn’t make it through it. It was just too much for me. I saw the Trees twice in the #90s and Mark’s solo records had a great impact on my life. On December 14, 2016. I flew to Los Angeles to see The Afghan Whigs at the Teragram Ballroom to see them play Black Love in its entirety. It was a benefit gig for their guitarist Dave Rosser, who unfortunately didn’t make it. He died of cancer shortly thereafter. Also there that night was Moby (playing an acoustic set), and Mark Lanegan. As you can see below, he was right in front of me. I could read the tattoos on his hands. The room was dead quiet and he had all of us entranced. And a little more than five years later… MARK was gone. I will never forget that night. The impact he had on my life was immeasurable. I just wish he could have taken better care of himself. He was an otherworldly talent.
