I don’t really think it’s the press’s fault. I think America simply doesn’t give a shit anymore. They seem to be completely inured to the crime, corruption, fascism, blatant lies, performative cruelty, election interference, embarrassment on the global stage, etc.
It’s very peculiar.

Its not peculiar, its by design. Flood the people with so much “News” all the time that they stop paying attention. You can only keep up with so much before you just stop trying. Even those of us still paying attention have to take breaks or go mad.
