I had stashed a few 8 tracks here that were free for this sort of occasion.... 😜 this was almost as grungy as the equipment. #repair #8track

Old capacitors replaced, whole board cleaned with window cleaner. Before I washed it, plugged it in but no movement. After this dries gets Triflow lubrication of motor plus any switches. #repair #8track

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org as recently as twenty years ago, Goodwill Stores and Salvation Army places around here got 150-200 eight track tapes donated every week. the going price was $2 per case (the carrying case was included with the 18-24 tapes you stuffed in them) * the secret was to press on the little "sponge" for each tape and it either popped back up, or turned to dust.
