This evening's long overdue project - upgrading Intel Core i7-6700 to Ryzen 7 5800x3D. Took longer than expected and almost gave me a heart attack - after putting stuff into the case and connecting everything, machine did not react to power button. Turned out it was just a switch on power strip not turned on ;) This box will be experimental gaming box - already uses Carbice Ice Pad instead of thermal paste (and with Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE holds 50'C while doing Memtest+ on all cores) and I can confirm - it gets better over time -- started at 60'C and last time I checked it idled at 44'C with very low RPM rate (600 RPM). Also, I'll try Pop!_OS instead of Windows 11. Because screw you, Microslop.
