(Me personally, I have always chalked up the above as evidence that we are in a transitional period. Language lags behind facts on the ground. We use decreasingly accurate terms, not because anyone really wants to, but because nobody has agreed on what the correct terms for the new realities are yet and using no words at all is not an option.)
