The EU's adaptation framework offers an illusion of preparation. Laying out plans for a 3°C drift average does not make it survivable. But it makes it seem so. 🧵

In the pine plantations west of Bordeaux, firefighters met the first pyrocumulonimbus France has ever seen.
There was the largest firefighting mobilisation in EU history, and the destruction broke records anyway:
