Ok so a bit of a theory here: Is Splatoon raiders a metaphor for colonialism? * We're going and invading their homeland to get treasure * We're doing "research" on the salmonids and their behaviour, as well as the artifacts that we seem to be stealing from them * But the descriptions of the artifacts are pretty consistently wrong most of the time, and every time we find a new piece, the description changed dramatically. * Therefore, what if our final descriptions of them are wrong too and we don't actually understand the artifacts at all? * And by extension, what if our understanding of Salmonid culture is also entirely made up bs? * Canonically, the salmonids "want to be eaten and take steps to make themselves maximally tasty", but given the inaccuracies or our artifacts analysis, this could also be made-up BS to justify our slaying of them. 1/2 #splatoon #SplatoonRaiders
