Interesting and annoying. Yesterday, #bluesky required me to verify my age because “my region” had regulations requiring that the age of users be verified. This annoyed me, because Aotearoa New Zealand has no age verification requirements at this stage. Now this morning I opened BS to be told it was verifying my age on its servers…. And nothing happened. I’m locked out of Bluesky. My real annoyance is that these lazy tech providers keep lumping us in with Australia (I’m assuming). FYI, world, Aotearoa New Zealand is a sovereign nation in its own right; NOT a part of Australia.
