@mahryekuh@hachyderm.io I've been thinking of these old ladies I overheard at the supermarket saying that we always had hot summers and that climate change is just a bunch of BS...I could not help but laugh at the time but it's really sad if you literally see the world burning 🥲

@botteaap@androiddev.social So much denial. End of spring/first days of summer we had this heatwave and folks on Instagram were like “this a normal summer, there’s always hot days” and I just shuddered.

@botteaap@androiddev.social @mahryekuh@hachyderm.io my two old (otherwise very nice) neighbours were having a similar conversation. Something along the lines of "this isn't new, remember we had a fire that year too (20 years ago)". I wanted to point out that 4 fires in the area this year so far, after 4 last year, is quite different from a solitary one in an occasional year.
