@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk @Pomegranatepirate@kolektiva.social It was easy to change jobs early in the US and harder past the average worker’s age of 42. Over 50 it was much harder. As someone mentioned freelance was the only option for many. Then you had to make sure to pay the full 15% FICA taxes to receive Social Security and Medicare.
