What would letting the working class choose their leader imply beyond working class people voting?

Once the vote happens, or even the primary, a lot of decisions have already been made about who runs for office. Money is required for any campaign, and it’s easy for the wealthy to direct funds to their favourites. True grass roots candidates like Bernie do exist, but they have to work ten times harder to get to the primary and have enough people know who they are to make a difference.
