So much of modern tech is feudalism dressed up as convenience. Content? Rent it. And risk losing it all if it gets pulled or your account gets locked. Devices? Locked down. Do you really own them if you can’t install software without jailbreaking? Electronics? Increasingly unaffordable. I guess they just expect us to rent all compute too eventually. Yes, FOSS is not always as convenient. But we have a better chance fixing that than we have making companies ethical.
