New, by me: Canadian Man Pleads Guilty in Snowflake Data Extortions: A 26-year-old Canadian man described as one of the most consequential cybercrime threat actors of 2024 has pleaded guilty to computer fraud and conspiracy to hack and extort more than 165 organizations that used the cloud data storage provider Snowflake. In addition to being an actual menace to society, Moucka was a dangerous person to know -- even if only online -- because he had a tendency to viciously betray, dox and humiliate everyone around him. He was part of a conspiracy that stole hundreds of millions of customer records from T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon, and they very much did use that data -- such as call and text record logs -- to stalk people and try to work out the social connections between security researchers and law enforcement officials.
