Municipal subreddits and local subreddits are absolutely astroturfed, any hot-button topic would always be flooded by hot shit takes that (before they removed your ability to see post history) would prove to be people running through different city subreddits blasting agitprop It is actually insane how powerful social media as an unfettered platform is for that kind of manipulation
