@pikarl@reporter.social @jon@gruene.social It was feasible enough in 1990 that they went ahead and built the carriages—but cancelled the service before it started (I suspect airline shenanigans). I suspect it might be problematic now because of capacity issues on HS1 and then at the hubs it can reach. Also Waverley doesn't have a customs/immigration border (but there may be space to add one).

@cstross@wandering.shop It wasn't really feasible then, even though they bought rolling stock. Sorry. And that is pre Jack Straw, and pre 2001, and pre UK borders paranoia. @pikarl@reporter.social
