I feel less and less capable of even listening to others, when they're piling on people in need for being humans with a past life, an education, and some leftover belongings. You know the pattern. "Why do all these boat refugees in the Mediterranean have smartphones?"; "Why do these people from Ukraine drive cars that are better than mine?"; "How can that Palestinian woman post from a notebook?" Dude, these are humans. Sorry it bothers you they're putting to good use whatever is left of their lives, instead of dressing in rags so you can treat them even worse. Sorry to hear they're not conforming to your ignorant stereotypes about faraway places. Sorry there is a real world that doesn't match what your preferred hateful media outlet says it is.
