@macronencer@mastodon.scot @ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk The ridiculous nature of the arrests and the 'show' trials are stuff of nightmares from repressive governments' histories, and we're experiencing them here in 2026, in the UK. Truly maddening. This can't bode well for Labour in the next election and for the next decade. Lawyers being charged for the crime of 'telling what the law is' in court is just horrendous. https://www.lawgazette.co.uk/news/kafkaesque-lawyers-rally-to-defence-of-silk-cited-for-contempt/5127485.article

@hittitezombie@mastodon.me.uk One of the most disturbing aspects of this destruction of liberty is the attitudes of the #LabourParty which oversees these horrors. Faced with proscription of opposition to genocide, sentencing for "terrorism" which wasn't mentioned in court, mass arrests of peaceful sign-holders, a barrister being persecuted .. most of Labour is either untroubled, or insufficiently concerned to make a big stink. Labour is an enabler of repression. #uspol #uklegal @macronencer@mastodon.scot @ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk
