@lkanies@hachyderm.io movies that cost that much cannot be good, almost by definition. a studio is not going to put up 250 million and let the director go wild making his own decisions. they will insist that he sand down all the rough edges and make it appeal to the widest possible audience, including international markets.
better to bet on directors with a track record, who mostly make modestly-priced movies, so the studio won’t be so upset if they under-perform. steven soderbergh comes to mind.
