Fucking AC still not here 😮‍💨🤬

  I bought a window AC unit off of Facebook marketplace last summer. I’m in an old house. All outlets are two prong so I use adapters. So multiple times the AC flipped the breaker. It did it a few times last summer but this summer it was happening multiple times a day. So after it fried a bar drive in my PC from a power surge (yes I had a power surge protector on but hardrives are more sensitive)… Anywho I bought a heavy duty extension cord and ran the AC to the spare bedroom that’s on a separate breaker switch. I assumed incorrectly , it was the old outlet being a little “loose” and literally everything in the living room including a 3d printer and PC being on the same breaker as the problem. It was not. AC ran okay for like a week. No more breakers flipped. Then one day power for it stops. I assume breaker but I check. It’s fine. I check outlet. It’s fine and works. That’s when I going the new heavy duty extension cord was melted to the plug on the AC. Yeah. Melted. It won’t come off. I tried prying it off with a flathead. Cause the extension cord was like $35. Cause it’s heavy duty. And 30 ft. Anyway. I guess there was something wrong with the AC. Why am I telling this story. Because I was sure the AC itself was fine. I mean it ran okay. I still have no idea what’s wrong with it but I’m going to write in black sharpie all over it that it’s bad and “danger don’t use ⚡ ⚡ ⚡” so. When I have it hauled off to the dump , no one tries to use it. Assuming they can get the extension cord off of it. I had a stand up portable AC in using now. Window units are more efficient but I can’t buy another and I just blocked off the kitchen and it works ok. Glad I had a backup option. I Got another extension cord. $$ Still don’t want to chance another power surge to my PC. Has anyone ever had a bad AC that causes power problems like this ? It was a 12,000 BTU or something like that. Idk what the issue is. Never had this happen. Glad the cord melted and power flow stopped instead of a fire.
