#ScribesAndMakers What book are you currently reading, or have you finished most recently? "Race and Reunion: The Civil War in American Memory," a mere stepping stone on the rocky path of my Reconstruction reading. The "most recently" finished book was "Black Reconstruction in America" by W. E. B. Du Bois. This is the, I don't know, 15th book I've read on Reconstruction since Christmas. Why on God's earth would I immerse myself in such a niche era? Because my ancestors killed that era of hope
