I went to a psychiatrist today. I called for an appointment yesterday. I paid my copay. I cannot even explain the difference between finding one for an adult vs. children. I spent days calling providers for my children and if they were even taking new patients, there was a minimum 3 month wait, cash only, and an hour away. This is with insurance. You pretty much have to stick them in a mental health facility to get immediate help. So wrong. Glad my kids made it to adulthood.
