@LonM@social.vivaldi.net maybe you can suggest to write very non-optimal and long code, and then say «by the way, this 10 lines could be written as 2, and these 5 are basically not needed if we do this little change, and...» this will demonstrate practically, why good abstractions and thinking do matter a lot @sushee@ohai.social

@LonM@social.vivaldi.net To be fair, I applied the same method to study Calculus at the uni once. Literally rewriting, with pen and paper, the course materials from the notes I wrote during the course into the new notebook sentence by sentence trying to understand it as I go. It helps to keep the focus and prevents you from skimming through the content too fast. It might be not the most effective way, And we had better handled courses after that one, but it is a working approach in some cases. @sushee@ohai.social
