what exactly is the value in a chatbot creating "new" software that does the same thing as existing software literally the only use case at scale I can see is IP laundering. otherwise, it was already materially cost free to copy the existing software. you don't need a billion dollar factory to make a copy, and there are no inputs other than perhaps $0.0001 worth of electricity the market for new new software is extremely small. there are no vast frontiers of unsatisfied demand here people keep likening this whole thing to the industrial revolution but there is no material advantage to be found in this type of "automation". you're not going to be able to download a car no matter how many trillions are spent on GPUs

@deprecated_ii@poa.st The entire software industry is based on upgrades and churn. Your software is from last generation? You need to upgrade it to Current Year. Yes, you'll pay lots of money each year for the platform, but it saves money on maintenance. Oh you already pay tons of money for a platform or cloud? You need to upgrade to our new locked-in suite and save money on the subscription costs. (rinse the customer and repeat)
