This has really been on my mind. Cause in a way it's blindingly obvious. You read that and you go "yeah we knew that". But it really drives the point home. People didn't choose AI. Companies didn't choose AI. Governments didn't choose AI. A small number of people, controlling a small number of entities, controlling unfathomable amounts of money, chose AI. Went all in. And the sheer capitalist force of that made it inevitable, made it an undeniable reality. Made companies and governments and individuals fall in line. I hope we, as a species, can claw our way back from this. From people with no democratic mandate having this much power. If so this will be studied in the history books.
