I don’t get Firefox at work, and the other day Chrome popped open a new tab on it’s own telling me to try out Gemini. I asked Gemini why this new tab had opened pushing Gemini on me when I didn’t ask it to, and it told me the most likely reason was that my computer is infected with a virus.
Not wrong I guess?

Microsoft is as bad. As our IT admin, I have about 300 different ways to launch Copilot. The most annoying was when they changed it so that going to office.com went to a Copilot chat window instead of allowing me to select the MS Office apps such as SharePoint and OneDrive. Bloody Notepad has a Copilot button now!
