@cygnoir@social.lol Oh no! That's a missed opportunity for sure, from an app standpoint. And I know none of us have a lot of extra time in our day to fiddle with stuff that should work smoothly in the first place, but one thing you could always do is copy your alt text before posting to some.pics, then cross-post to Mastodon the way you normally would (via the share sheet or whatever you wish), and then pop over and edit the Mastodon post and paste the alt text you just copied into the media alt text field. Is that an annoying workflow? Absolutely. But it's one that will let more people see your awesome images!

@neatnik@social.lol I wonder if the takeaway here isn't "ask users to deal with an annoying workflow" but "make tools better support uploading photos with alt-text". People who know how to code could support the more inclusive behavior by making tools do the right thing. It's easy, then, for a person to use the tool if the right thing is already built in.
