@W6KME@mastodon.radio one of the comments was from a woman claiming to have a "wall of shame" of cast iron pans her husband has "ruined" by washing them with soap. Wild.
The only time I've seen a cast iron "ruined" was when my aunt put mine through a dish washer. Even then it just needed to be re-seasoned.

@tsherrygeo@m.ai6yr.org And even seasoning does not need to be the staggeringly ritualized thing it has become. Scrape off the rust. Cook something with some oil, or something greasy. Done. That's it. It works.
