@SpaceLifeForm@infosec.exchange I agree. This makes things non-trivial, but I imagine humans have learned enough about variable g and time and distance that we can maybe approximate my answers.
Clearly the black hole engineer that told me all of this has a higher level of understanding, and the college they graduated from might have had much more advanced courses than we know of... But they might have also been simplifying things for my considerably simpler mind.

@bobdobberson@kolektiva.social We approximate measurements well enough to be useful. I have never noticed a distortion in my monitor when a gravitational wave passed thru. Well, except when the ISP has an outage.
