Of all the things that should fell AI, I think the thing that will get it is just how profoundly uncool it is. Even online we are still social creatures and it has no human connection, no swoon. It's the social equivalent of polyester.

@Tarnport@mastodon.green I observed this last week eavesdropping a conversation between 3 young girls in my family aged ~15. They were gossiping about an acquaintance who shared an AI-generated content, and they were very, very mean about that person. We’re not just some old nerds whimpering about AI, it is INDEED uncool amongst youngsters.
