Just had a fun experience, a good win moment for the soft modded 360. Dragon Age Inquisition for the Xbox 360 came in 2 discs. The first was an install disc that installed game files and multiplayer, the second was a play disc. If you have a base model 360 that has no internal HDD and only the 4gb internal memory unit(like I do), you can’t play Inquisition. Many unfortunate gamers only discovered this upon boot up after buying the game, and it led to a lot of review bombing upon launch. The install files are 7gbs, and you CANT install them on an external, only on an internal HDD. So even if you drag and drop the necessary first disc files(there are 4, each about 2gbs) you’re still met with a splash screen upon insertion of disc 2 saying you need to install said files Weeellll thanks to a 12 year old forum post it turns out you can bypass this! It involves opening the disc 1 files, dragging and dropping into specific file structures, as well as deleting the aforementioned splash screen file but once you do all that, ta da! You’ve successfully installed dragon age inquisition on an external without needing an internal hdd!
