@mina@berlin.social @staff@mastodon.social Not sure about that, I'm also trying to understand what's going on. Why does it have a reason field and why is this user writing to you: "Your instance isn't reliable, and... if you're on it, you're not reliable either." It kind of sounds like a very polite "shut up" to me. Edit: Found the source code at https://github.com/ktwrd/fedi-block-api-mirror so you were right, sorry about that https://www.whois.com/whois/ryona.agency https://mastodon.cloud/@aiforests/117038942739665049

@aiforests@mastodon.cloud @mina@berlin.social the user who shared the FBA link is not affiliated to us in any way. FBA itself is not a tool that suspends instances - it only periodically scrapes defederation statues and publishes them. Sure, I hate from the bottom of my heart the folks who built it (the Kiwifarms / FreeSpeechExtremist Nazis), but it doesn’t mean that the tool itself isn’t useful. Extremist instances (like mastodon.art) would however suspend you at first sight just for sharing a link to that website, but luckily other instance admins are not Talibans. That being said, saying “this person is not trustworthy because they’re on an instance blocked by some other instances” is a weak argument that I do not condone in any way.
