@sushee@ohai.social There's a whole generation of us that learned programming from typing in code examples from computing/gaming magazines back in the late 1900s. (I learned rudimentary debugging skills by finding my own typos.)
Absolutely nobody still does this, because as you said, it would be absurd.

@lizardbill@hachyderm.io @sushee@ohai.social and yet, that generation of us are probably better programmers than today's crop. Every bit of manual labor aids memory, and stronger memory aids understanding.
