@arstechnica@mastodon.social After the 2008 financial crash, I remember many politicians despairing at the ‘socially useless’ transactions that take place millions of times a day on the stock markets. But it seems in 2026 there is a level of financial squalor deeper and more disturbing than ‘socially useless’…there is ‘market inspired physical destruction’.
