@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org I built one for my dad (R.I.P.) and it has the exact same motherboard as mine—so same socket, obviously—but his had an i5 instead of an i9.  So I might just swap it, initially just to confirm (or rule out) that this is actually the issue, and then maybe just keep running that for a while (assuming that works, of course).  If it's RAM, I'm hosed; my RAM was $600 when I bought it and ~2,500–$3,000 at current prices.
