Imagine making an app that respects user privacy and being rewarded with a 3/5 star rating cause your users are funny.

My understanding is that this really does hurt the dev, reduces visibility to new users, etc.

This is probably just mock reviews for development instead of lorem ipsum text. Name a plattform where reviews are not fake or atleast the bad ones are occisionally removed. I don’t know any apart from porn sites.
