A fascinating article about how a group of journalists working for the Hungary state news agency quietly documented all the ways the news was manipulated under the Orbán regime. They have now released a detailed report.
Among many things, this is a terrific example of resistance during the rule of authoritarian regimes. Document, document, document the abuses because one day the sun will shine and the truth can be revealed.

@paulh@cloudisland.nz Is there a link somewhere to the 15 pages they've released so far? Is there a way to see the full 500-page report soon? This seems like vital information to share widely.

@paulh@cloudisland.nz This is the kind of resistance totalitarianism needs. Collect all the proof, how insignificant it might be. It will be used, someday!

@paulh@cloudisland.nz Even if Péter Magyar turns out to be as big of a shit as Orbán, just the fact that people feel it’s more okay to publish these kinds of things now is both indicating that the climate is better and *making* the climate better. It’s also putting pressure on Magyar to not be as big of a shit.
