@professionalbigot69@poa.st it's a huge drop in ballistic coefficient. at 350 yards they're going the same speed because the 69 grain slows down faster, and the 77 grain behaves better in the wind the whole way
lighter bullets like the lapua scenar and barnes TSX are reasonable compromises because they're very long for their weight, which gives them good BCs, but they're also very expensive and they have shitty terminal performance
the 5.56x45mm just doesn't have the legs for any of this to matter, at the end of the day. if you need to hit something past 400 yards bring a real rifle
