TIL that when the Atari Jaguar was officially discontinued, the developer documentation was officially released into the public domain (by Hasbro, who bought the IP of Atari's games but had no interest in the console) to allow interested third parties to continue supporting the platform.
why doesn't every game console do this? why don't we demand every game console do this?
