I haven't bought anything from Amazon Kindle since early last year. I switched to Kobo. My reason was them removing the ability to back up your DRMed ebooks, but I was also bothered by an increasingly intrusive, unwanted "X-Ray" feature and surveillance, so much surveillance. Underlining this, last week I read a Kindle book I bought 2 years ago and hadn't read yet. Kindle noticed me reading a book *on my phone, locally* and now sends me daily aggressive emails trying to sell me "similar" books.
